Flea market haul #6

The flea market started out not so good, but I still found a few nice things.

4 Super Mario figures (two of them still wraped, only Peach was missing) for 1€
Pacman board game complete for 4€
2 My little Pony magazines (from 2005 and 2006) for free

My little Pony Pamphlet from 1988

I scanned this pamphlet before it falls apart completely. I think I got into MLP in 1990 when I was 4 years old...at least that's when I got my first Pony magazine and I have a picture from my birthday and a 1990 Pony calendar. By that time The MLP line was already in it's eight year and only 4 years later they stopped releasing and producing new Ponies.
For some reason I always prefered the older Ponies over the newer ones with their bright and often neon colors.
I adored this pamphlet! I soooo wanted the nursery and the baby buggy aaaand the Ponies with the butterfly wings. I ended up getting the playsets I wanted, but I only ever got one Pony with butterfly wings...from the flea market with cut off hair ^^;
It took quite a while to scan everything and put everything together. Sadly the pictures look worse on blogger than my original files...

I hope you still enjoy them :)

Nesthäkchen Baby Pony "Schlummerchen"

It's still in good condition (well...there is some glue on the body and the tail, but it already was like that when I bought it new) and I have all the parts that came with this little cutie :)
The only thing missing on the picures is the pink ribbon. I know it came with a yellow ribbon, but I have a few of them and have no idea which one came with it or if I don't have it anymore.

Isn't she cute? :D I have Blubberchen, too but I don't know where the bathtub is :/

My little Pony G1 Collection

Yes, yet another post! Well I went to our basement because I was searching a specific toy. I found it and also brought a bag full of Ponies up to our apartment.

So here they are lined up! Everyone of those (save for the second Lemon Drop) is from my childhood :)

I know there are a few missing here...I had one with the ultra long hair and a few more baby ponies. I think they are inside the playsets (at least I hope so!)...I feel so spoiled because I had so many of the playsets and what feels like an army of Ponies.
As an adult I think 33 aren't THAT many especially when I consider that at least a third of them I bought at flea markets as a child.

I also still have pamphlets and cut our pieces from the boxes :D
Phew...it will take so much time to go through all the combs and brushes and little pieces. Most of the Ponies also need a clean up and some hair care.

Flea market haul #5

I'm actually glad I didn't find much today. First I saw this Littlest Petshop bunny and I love bunnies and it was only 50cent. The other two I got from another lady who had a whole box of those (stupid) Filly Ponies, littlest Petshop and a few other things. She wanted 1€ for two of them and I chose this cute kitty and koala.

Only at home I saw that the bunny was an Mc Donalds toy. Well it's still cute...but it's stupid that one cannot remove the bunny from it's stand.
These are my first littlest Petshop pets ... I resisted so long. But I still won't collect them. I mean...there are way to many ^^;

Bat

No markings...as far as I remember it came from a blind bag.

Mc Donalds Happy Meal - Jewel Pets

I actually didn't know Jewel pets before and I'm not the biggest Sanrio fan but I couldn't resist to get those.

There are 4 of them...a good number to collect :p

They are quite big, about 6cm/2,5Inches.

And since Mc Donalds toys always need to have some kind of function...if you pull the lash on top, they light up.

You can still get them at German Mc Donalds till April. They also have 4 types of Pokemon...and the next toy lines they have are Beyblade thingies and Zoobles.

Puzzle - 100 Years of Film

It's been AGES since I last done a puzzle. My Mom bought this one at a flea market for 1€ like two weeks ago. It has thousand pieces and it took me the whole weekend (not non-stop, of course!)

My little Pony G1 Magazines (german)

Another thing that surprised me when I ws browing trough the stuff in our attic was that I still had all my Pony magazines. They are of course not in very good condition because it's thin cheap paper and I "read" them nearly everyday.

I have them from January '91 till the last issue in '94 I think. I'll share a few more pics the next days. I'm also thinking about scanning them, but that's a) lots of work b) don't know where it's best to store the files c) don't know if I get in trouble because of copyright stuff d) don't know if other collectors might have something against it ^^;

Flea market haul #4

Close to were I live there is a flea market every wednesday and friday morning. Normally you can't find much there (always the same people and commerical sellers) but now with this nice weather there are lots of one timers selling their stuff.

So this is my haul from today!

I recognized those She-Ra figures and asked for a prize. The same lady had this other nice doll and one single lonely NES game. The doll looked so nice and had 1986 imprinted and just bought everything. At home I searched for this doll online...it seemed familiar, but I wasn't sure. Well...turns out it's from the Lady Lovelylocks line! It's Ballerina Maiden Fairhair (the apron does not belong to it)! She is missing th Pixie Tail and shoes but otherwise she's perfect.
I actually don't remember those dolls, but I had a Lady Lovelylocks comic and I loved it so much because it was pink and everyone had those dresses and long flowing hair and so on.

Total Recall for the NES is considered a pretty shitty game, but I took it with me anyway :p

The lil' petite Pony I got for free! I was looking through a box with lots of tiny things (mostly surprise egg/Überraschungseier figures) and found it. Sadly it was the only one. When I asked the prize the lady said I can have it for free. Yay~

And last...the bag. I just thought it was cute. I think it's a cheap Hong Kong knock-off bag, but it's nice an big and was very cheap. It has these really cute human-bunny couples figures all over it.

Keypers snail 'Fancy' cleaned up!

Yesterday I cleaned the Keypers snail I found at the flea market and I thought it would be nice to show some before and after photos.

Before : You can see how dirty she was. The hair was also very tangled, but it still felt nice and wasn't all that frizzy.

After some cleaning she looks so much better and has nice hair again :)

For cleaning I used a normal washing cloth and water. A bit soap makes the cleaning a bit easier. Just don't use any colored soap. You can also use an old toothbrush to scrub the most dirty parts. Just be carefull not to scrub off any paint. If there are little dots of dirt or paint that does not belong there you might carefully scratch it off with something sharp.
But simply with water and a cloth is often enough :)

Haircare : I washed them with shampoo to get rid of the dirt and smell. Try not to get the hair wet right at the head because the water will soak inside the plastic body. Then I put some conditioner on. Of course it won't repair the syntetic hair or of the toy, but it makes the hair much easier to brush. Carefully comb the hair beginning at the tips. You might wash the conditoner out a bit if you used too much. As a last step I put hot water on the hair. Not boiling water (that will maybe just melt them off and make them frizzy), hot water. I just boiled some water, put it in a cup and let it cool off for one or two minutes. Now use a towel and let the hair air dry in any position you want it.

On the last pic you can see the discoloration of the snail house. Sadly there is nothing you can do about it. Plastic will get this yellow tint if it gets old and was put into sunlight for long (most super nintendo consoles look like this, too).

Well...as you can see you can still make a lot to make an old toy look nice again. You don't need any special products, is easy to do and doesn't take much time :)

Genso Suikoden Figures

As far as I know they were released in 2005. They are based on a Videogame series very dear to me... I love this figures very much and there is nearly no Suikoden merchandise so I had to get them.
There were 7 figures total, but I only have four of them. I missing the three main characters from the third part of the game series. Somehow the online shop did not have them...but I got the others at a discount prize so I won't complain :p

Those photos are actually quite old. I took them when I got the figures...and I tried to make them more artsy, but I failed a bit :p

So I'll start with Tir Mc Dohl, the hero from the first Suikoden game!

Riou, the hero from Suikoden 2!

Nash from Suikogaiden. Those were two graphic novel types of tie-in games for Suikoden 2. They were never released in the us or europe. I think the figure comes with another set of arms so he can also hold a sword.

And Lazlo from the unloved Suikoden 4 (I enjoyed it!) He came with another set of arms/hands so he can hold his two swords. The paint job does look a bit messy on his vest, but that's just because of the photos. You have to consider these figures are only 10cm tall...so it looks much better in person.

Sorry for this strange post and the very old pictures ^^;

Flea market haul #3

Somehow my health isn't the best, especially the last week. I still didn't want the flea market today. Now I very tired but found a few nice random things!

This is all I got...everything together was 4,50€. So not too bad I think. My Mom who went with me also got a few nice books for my dad.

- Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. I have my Harry Potter book in really random editions. Some in German some in English. This one I only have in German, so now I finally have the original version. I also really like this edition with the pictures. At first I did not want to buy it because it isn't in the best condition and was a bit overprized for a book on the flea market. Well...my mom made me get it anyway and we got it a bit cheaper because she was buying some other books, too.

- The picture and the rabbit where from the same person, a nice old lady who sold everything for 1 €. The picture is just a print, not even a good one, but I dunno...I just liked it. And the postman rabbit is so damn kitschy...but you know...it's easter and stuff. ^^;

- Keypers snail!!! The best find today. It was from one of those seller who have boxes and boxes of random stuff that most people would just throw away. I'm so glad my mom saw it in one of the boxes. It was only 50cent. Yay~ I actually already have the same from my childhood, but has discoloring and there was something broken and my dad fixed it very crudely ^^;
This one from the flea market is sadly discolored, too. The hair is tangled and the body dirty but it can be fixed. For that prize it's absolutely okay

- The figurine...actually a pity buy ^^; I doubt it's worth anything, but I like its look and for 50cent *shrugs*

Flea market haul #2

Another flea market haul post and I wasn't even at a flea market. My parents were and my mom brought me all this Polly Pocket stuff... she said it was too cheap to pass.

4 of those sets are complete, the others are missing pieces. Three sets are from 1989... one of them is the same I owned as a child. Score!!!

I swear...I never intended to collect Polly Pocket stuff. I don't now why it pops up suddenly everywhere. A month ago I didn't own a single PP item and now this.

Wiiiiiiiii~

I took part in a little contest a gaming website run....and well... I won first prize!!! A black Wii and a copy of "The last Story" which was released just like a week ago over here.

I've never won anything and now this! So awesome! I already played a bit and I'm now one hour in and it's great so far. I'm just really not used to next-gen games like at all. I feel so old for getting confused at a game ^^;

Flea market haul #1

I've been to the flea market and bought too many useless things again ^^;

A board game based on the Arcade and Atari hit Berzerk! I've never imagined Evil Otto to look like this :p (I think it's from 1983)

Turtles Comic Book

3 incomplete Polly Pocket playsets and a few random Polly Pocket parts

My little Pony - Lemon Drop. I already have this one, but you can't have enough Ponies :p

Polly Pocket

I never had a big Polly Pocket collection as child. I owned only three playsets, but I really enjoyed them. When I got older we sold them off... now with my nostalgia trip going on I kinda wish I still had them.

Last week on the flea market I saw a lady selling some Polly Pocket stuff and I could help browsing through the playsets. After some chatting with the lady I ended up buying two of them. They were very cheap, but sadly also missing some parts because she didn't know which parts belonged to which anymore.

Here is the first playset I bought from her. It's from 1995 and called 'Sparkle Snowland'. I love the book design.

Sadly there are 4 pieces missing: Another Polly fgure (blonde), a gray husky, an icebear and a pink sledge.

And here is the second set I picked up. It's from 1997 and goes by the name 'Rose Hideaway'. Really cute, but impractical to store away.

There are two missing pieces: a yellow flower and a yellow bumble bee. Also the figure must come from another set (I still haven't found out which), originally there was a blonde one included.

For Polly Pocket I can really recommend the homepage onlypollypocket. They have everything every released there! Great to check if you have parts and don't know what they belong to.
